Leicester City relegated to League One a decade after historic Premier League triumph.

10 years after their sensational Premier League title win, Leicester City have been relegated to Sky Bet League One.

The Foxes were held to a 1–1 draw by Hull City in Matchweek 44 of the Sky Bet Championship, a result that leaves them seven points adrift of safety and mathematically confirms their relegation.

Hull took the lead early through Liam Millar, but Leicester turned the game around in the second half thanks to a Jordan James penalty and a well-struck volley from Luke Thomas. However, Oli McBurnie’s equaliser ensured the Tigers came away with a point.

Leicester still had chances to win the game, with Patson Daka hitting the post late on, but it proved a bridge too far to keep their survival hopes alive.

It will be just the second time in the club’s 142-year history that Leicester are to compete in League One.

    Leicester’s league standings

With two games remaining, The Foxes sit 23rd in the Championship table after 44 matches.

    What’s next?

Leicester will host Millwall on April 24 before travelling to Blackburn Rovers on the final day of the season on May 2.
