It is not a surprise that Real Madrid are interested in the services of Rodri. The winner of the Golden Ball is a master midfield player who Real Madrid club president Florentino Perez admires. After lifting the 2026 World Cup, Rodri joins an elite list of players who have won the World Cup, Champions League, European Championship, and Ballon d’Or.
Rodri Has Completed Football
Franz Beckenbauer, Gerd Müller, and Zinedine Zidane are other players who have all completed the list. Then there are Rivaldo, Ronaldinho, and Lionel Messi who have lifted all of the above but the Copa America instead of the European Championship.
The reports are that new Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho would love to have Rodri in midfield, and it seems Rodri would like to head back to Spain. City have spent big on Elliot Anderson this summer already in case of a Rodri departure. Man City are also interested in Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi, rated at £100 million.
Rodri for now remains a Man City player, but if some of these deals go through, it seems likely he will move back to Spain after seven trophy-laden years in Manchester.
