Croatia are up and running in the World Cup after their first game loss to England on Wednesday. Ante Budimir got the winning goal as Croatia claimed a 1-0 victory and left Panama packing their bags to go home. The first half was good for Panama, who created some good chances, but like their opening game against Ghana, they could not score.
Luka Modric Becomes Only the Fourth Man to Reach 200 Games for His Country
The fans at the Toronto Stadium were treated to history as Croatian captain Luka Modric reached his 200th game in Croatian colours. An amazing achievement for the 40-year-old who made his World Cup debut in 2006. Modric now joins a short list of players who have made it to 200 national games, including Lionel Messi, Bader Al-Mutawa, and Cristiano Ronaldo.
For Croatia, this victory keeps their chances of getting through to the knockout rounds. They will face Ghana in their final group game on Saturday, knowing a win takes them through to the last 32.
