Spurs have been busy again in the transfer market with a reported deal to sign Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali for £100 million. The negotiations have been going on for over a month now, and once finalised, it will shatter the club transfer record for the second time this summer. It will break the record of £85 million they agreed for Mateus Fernandes a few days ago.
Tottenham Mean Business in This Transfer Window
This is the second big transfer Spurs have made, with Roberto De Zerbi being the main reason Tonali decided to choose Spurs. Tonali will earn a staggering £275,000 per week in wages, and this puts Tottenham’s spend this summer transfer window at over £200 million.
Newcastle will be happy with the profit they have made on Tonali, as they only paid £55 million from AC Milan in the summer of 2023. It looks likely that Tottenham will let some of their players go, such as Lucas, Bergvall, Cristian Romero, Sarr, Richarlison and Vuskovic. This will free up more money for the club.
