In 2022 Morocco went on to the World Cup semi-finals, and now, after a comfortable 3-0 win against Canada, Morocco can dream big once again. Two goals from Azzedine Ounahi and one from Soufiane Rahimi sent Morocco through to play France on Thursday in Boston. The Atlas Lions will get the chance to gain revenge over France, who knocked them out four years ago in Qatar in the semi-finals.
Morocco Are Serious Contenders
The time has passed when people can say Morocco are underdogs or dark horses; Morocco are contenders and have proved it once again. Morocco have shown they are a team that is consistent and can win in different ways. They held on with an early goal against Scotland, they beat Haiti in a battle of attrition, and they fought back to beat the Netherlands on penalties.
It does not matter the climate or the location; Morocco has demonstrated they will turn up and win no matter what. There will certainly be tougher games to come for Morocco, but for now this is a team that is used to winning, and that is a dangerous team.
