Manchester United want to freshen up their midfield, and the 22-year-old Brazilian from Chelsea is of interest. Santos has struggled to get in the side as Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo fill his position. The 22-year-old only started 13 Premier League games last season and wants more first-team football. Newcastle are also interested in Santos, who Chelsea value at £50 million.
A Midfield Rebuild Key For Man Utd This Summer
It is understood that there have been no talks between Utd and Chelsea yet; it is in the early stages. After Caicedo signed a seven-year contract with Chelsea in April, the chances of first-team football for Santos at Chelsea seem slim. The Brazilian has been on loan with Nottingham Forest as well as Strasbourg since signing for Chelsea from Vasco de Gama for £18 million three years ago.
Chelsea are keen on £50 million for the player, but it is unlikely that the new owners, Ineos, will agree to that hefty price tag.
