Anyone who decided to count Brazil out of lifting their sixth World Cup may have to think again. The samba kings dismantled Scotland in Florida with a punishing 3-0 scoreline. It was ruthless finishing from Vinicius Junior, who bagged two goals from Matheus Cunha that sealed Scotland’s fate. Scotland will now have to wait to find out if they will make it through to the next round as one of the tournament’s best third-placed teams.
Neymar Returns
After a 981-day absence from the national team, Neymar returned in Florida to a hero’s welcome. It was the 75th minute when he came on for Matheus Cunha and added some wonderful crosses into the box. With Neymar now back for Brazil and Vinicius Junior scoring freely, Brazil will be looking forward to the knockout rounds. Brazil will now face the runners-up from Group F, which is currently Japan, on the 29th of June. One thing is clear: it is very dangerous to count Brazil out of this World Cup.
