France will play England in a third-place play-off in Miami on Saturday. The two teams that failed at the semi-final stage will play to win the bronze medal of the tournament. Neither team will look forward to playing this game, as they both would prefer to head home. Kylian Mbappe has the chance to score and get ahead of Messi in the Golden Boot race before Messi plays on Sunday.

How France and England Reached the Third-Place Play-Off

France had a more straightforward route to the semi-finals, as they never needed extra time. They beat Senegal, Iraq, Norway, Sweden, Paraguay and Morocco. England required extra time against Norway but beat Croatia, Panama, DR Congo, Mexico, and Norway. France won six of their seven matches before losing to Spain in the semi-final. England won five matches and drew one, before losing to Argentina in the semi-final.

Our Prediction: Who Will Claim Third Place?

We predict that France will have too much firepower and attacking threat for England. With Mbappe trying to top the scoring charts and lift the Golden Boot, he will be eager to score more than ever. But let’s not forget Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham have scored six goals and have an outside chance to win the award too. But we edge France as the winners.
