Chelsea right back has reportedly agreed personal terms to join up with Enzo Maresca at Man City this summer. The French international has a desire to play for Man City, so City must now decide on a fee. Gusto has been a reliable defender for Chelsea over his 134 appearances for the club. He arrived for 30 million from Olympique Lyonnais in January of 2023 and has scored three goals and created 17 goals in that time.
Reunion With Maresca Appeals
Gusto worked with Maresca at Chelsea between July 2024 and January of this year, and had a fantastic relationship. Maresca believes Gusto is the perfect full-back for his project at City. Despite Gusto wanting the move to Man City, the challenge will come with negotiating a deal. Chelsea are expected to want a large fee as Gusto signed a contract until 2030.
There has already been interest from other clubs for Chelsea star players this summer, making Chelsea hesitant to sanction another departure.
