Lincoln City clinched the League One title in Matchweek 44 with an away victory over Doncaster Rovers, securing top spot in the Sky Bet League Two standings.

Ukraine U21 international Ivan Varfolomeev played his part as the Imps were crowned champions for the first time in the club’s history.

Tuesday’s 2-0 win at Doncaster Rovers thanks to two goals from Ben House ensured no one can finish above the Lincoln in the table, and means the season will finish with silverware.

It was the first time promotion had been won from the third tier since the 1951/52 season – 74 years ago.

It has been a truly remarkable season, with 29 wins, 10 draws and just five defeats so far taking the Imps to 97 points.

Ivan completed the full 90 minutes in the match against Rovers. He’s became the first Ukrainian to achieve such a feat

    Varfolomeev’s numbers this season

A graduate of Karpaty and Ruh academies, Ivan has made 35 appearances for Lincoln this season (1 goal and 3 assists).

The midfielder joined Lincoln from Czech side Slovan Liberec for €800,000 and signed a contract running until 30 June 2029.

    What’s next for Imps?

In their final two Sky Bet League One fixtures, the Imps will host Wycombe Wanderers (25 April).

Lincoln will bring their 2025/26 campaign to a close with an away fixture against Port Vale (2 May).
